AERIALIST / ACROBAT

A versatile circus artist specialising in aerial silk, aerial rope and straps. 

Joseph trained initially as an artistic gymnast for 11 years before shifting into 5 years of specialist theatre training. He has also studied Teatro Físico for 6 months at La ESAD, Murcia (Spain).

Fuelled by artistic and acrobatic risk, Joseph's own work continues to explore notions of identity and masculinity as well as the implications of these constructs. 

Joseph has created bespoke performances and work for companies, shows and cabarets such as Upswing Aerial, Chivaree Circus, Complicite, Scarabeus Aerial Theatre, Lost in Translation Circus, Yellow Entertainment, Jonny Woo's Un-Royal Variety Show, Mariah & Friendz and DISCO54.

Performing at events in prestigious/iconic venues such as Printworks (London), Grosvenor House Hotel (Mayfair), Hackney Empire, Jackson's Lane Theatre, Underbelly Festival (Speigeltent), National Centre for Circus Arts, ONE Marylebone, Albert Hall (Manchester), Melkweg (Amsterdam) and Clapham Common's Winterville.
